Orange published a GitOp Tooling zone end 2024.
This solution has been introduced in Sylva community.
The solution allows to address automation at large through the implementation of the GitOps methodology.
During the session, we will cover the technical solution, the reasons why it was published in open source end the link with the Sylva community.
Orange has launched an open-source cloud-native toolkit aimed at addressing automation challenges. This initiative primarily integrates solutions from the CNCF and home made glue/operators and seeks to connect various components, providing end customers with the necessary tools to implement a secured GitOps strategy.
The solution includes a GitOps engine (Flux CD), utilities (such as Harbor and GitLab Runner operator), and integrations of standard components for observability and security, including a service mesh solution based on Istio. It also relies on market standards like OpenID Connect, S3, Vault, and GitLab.
Published in September 2024, this toolkit is intended for the Sylva community and can serve as a reference implementation for end users and for vendors, who are encouraged to deliver solutions in the form of Kubernetes intentions. The session will detail the contents of this toolkit, the rationale behind choices, its use in production, and future perspectives.
