IA, SAAS et Open Source, challenges or opportunities for Open Source Companies ?
2025-06-17 , Main stage

AI is starting to appear in many collaborative SaaS applications, with a significant impact on the business models of these services.

What impact will the arrival of these functionalities have on the prices of these services?
Should users expect price increases?
Will they have the choice of whether or not to use and pay for AI services?
What about data protection?

Challenges or opportunities for Open Source companies ?

Do these upheavals change the game for publishers of Open Source solutions? Should they follow or differentiate themselves? Is the arrival of AI primarily a challenge for these publishers or an opportunity?

This presentation will be based on the analysis conducted by XWiki SAS on this subject, presenting recent changes in the SaaS domain on software prices with the arrival of AI, based also on our experience with the AI project WAISE funded by NGI Search, as well as the decisions made by the first Open Source editors starting to develop AI functionalities.
